About the simultaneous download problem, it's a http feature. But you might just type about:config in the URL-bar and change the setting for network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server to whatever you like. Points 1 and 2 have been fixed afaik.

The new window from explorer links are very annoying and I'm still relapsing from the loss of my precious "Save link to Disk" context menu item.
