Not Fooling Anybody

Taco Bell? No, 2000 Wok.

You know how when a fast food restaurant moves out of a building to set up shop across town, sometimes new owners will move in and reuse the building without doing any remodeling? So the building still looks like the fast food place, even if it serves completely different food? Or even if they’re now selling carpets or insurance or whatever? That’s what this site is devoted to: Not Fooling Anybody.

Look through the Field Guide to spot the different architectural styles used, and browse the Index to see all the bad conversions across the country.

  1. Bob says:

We’ve two prime examples here in Eagle Valley.

The one everyone knows is the former Taco Bell in front of Smith’s which houses the best burrito place in town.

Lesser known is the former KFC across the street from the Ormsby House. It’s a real estate office now. Check out the pointed roof.
