Waiting on the World to Change

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been learning how to use Adobe Premiere Pro, editing together a video for Viola’s homework assignment. After some of the other editors I’ve worked with (Windows Movie Maker, anyone) it was such a joy to work in a video editor with real power. Her homework involved a 15-minute long presentation covering the major points in her book on Deaf Culture, and I’ll spare showing you that. But they also decided to put together a music video at the end, and that was the most fun to film and to edit.

This wasn’t a completely original idea; they wanted to do it after seeing a similar video at But we made it personal by putting in our kids and people from the high school.
