Good News

It’s the Good News of the Month. Or, perhaps an announcement this big should be the Good News of the Year. Whatever you want to call it, the fact remains that ground has been broken on our new In-N-Out Burger.

It may not look like much more than a jumble of plumbing and forms. But soon we shall partake of the Double Double, and it shall be Good. And it shall be only seven Minutes from my house, and on my way to Work. And the people shall rejoice.

Now, I guess I have to admit that I’m not 100% sure that this will be an In-N-Out. There’s no sign up, and there hasn’t been any kind of public announcement that work has started. For all I know this could be another Starbucks. This particular shopping center only has one, after all. And Starbucks always come in pairs.

But I’m working on good empirical evidence here. They’re building an In-N-Out in Reno right now, a bona fide one with “coming soon” signs and press releases and TV news camera crews and everything. And this site looks identical to the one going up in Reno. Right down to those asymmetrical steel frames in the back. So either somebody’s building a Tastee Freeze with a set of stolen blueprints, or it’s the real deal.

So this will be the Summer of Waiting, followed closely by the Fall of Beefy Goodness, and then we’ll be into the Winter of Kind Of Getting Used To It So It’s A Little Mundane Now, But We Still Couldn’t Live Without It.

Can’t wait!
