A couple of movies of the kids playing, and of Jack who is just starting to crawl.

Microblogging

I’ve been experimenting lately with different forms of microblogging. Because sometimes I’m not even able to put together a short post, two or three paragraphs, because the baby is being demanding or my mind is just too scrambled to put words together. So I’ve been trying other ways of keeping the blog flowing. One way is by moblogging, posting photos from my mobile phone. Ever since I got a phone last January that was capable of taking and posting pictures, I’ve been trying to snap pics while I’m out and about, and I have things wired up so I can send the photo to Flickr, which then posts it here. This especially comes in handy when I’m on vacation, as seen back in March when I moblogged from Discovery Kingdom and Sacramento.

Something else new I’m trying is linkblogging, using the features built into del.icio.us. Often while I’m surfing the web during the day I come across sites and articles that are interesting, but not interesting enough to make a whole post about. So now what I’m starting to do is bookmark them using del.icio.us, which then collects them all every evening and posts them to the blog. So that way I can share some of the stuff I run across during the day, but still be lazy about it.

Now of course the king of microblogging is Twitter, which I’m not doing. Not yet, anyway. I’m reluctant to start using Twitter because I don’t know what I’d write about, and I don’t know who would follow me. Maybe one day I’ll figure it all out and find a way for Twitter to make sense for me. Then I’ll start doing it. But until then, I’ll have these other kinds of microblogging to play around with.
